Panasonic VIERA TC-P50GT25 50-inch Deals

Was looking for a gift for Mom and Dad (a.k.a. me and my wife) and like to buy things we all can enjoy with the whole family. So being in the TV programming business I've been attending seminars on 3D and picking up very usual tips. Recently I learned from a vendor that Plasma is better than LED with 3D and that Panasonic and Samsung have already started exclusive 3D content wars with Panasonic holding "Avatar". After reviewing prices and reviews I decided to go with Panasonic and couldn't be happier. Amazingly this 50 inch TV weighs less than the 42 inch Sharp HD set it is replacing. Was able to mount on the wall and just blown away by the picture. And so far the sound has also been more than enough for the room although i'm looking into a surround sound system. The 3D is way cool (purchased A Christmas Carol with Jim Carey). Set up was a breeze and very pleased with the free shipping. Price dropped slightly after Thanksgiving and Amazon rocked with their matching guarantee. All in all a great experience and very pleased with this purchase

I just got this TV a few days ago and I am very impressed. I had a 50'' Samsung DLP before this which I really liked but wanted to upgrade. This TV has it all. Amazing picture quality and a lot of customization. I don't have 3D glasses yet but I'll make sure to let you know if it works out well. I can just speak for the 2D aspect of the TV and all I can say is that it's the best TV out there for the price. I paid $980 for this TV brand new in Portland, OR (so no sales tax!) because I got the sales rep to knock off $120 the asking price. I honestly looked around at all the different places (including Amazon) and different brands and couldn't find a better deal. Even if you end up buying this TV between $1000-1199 you're still getting a spectacular deal. The only real difference between the GT series and the VT series is the Infinite Black vs Infinite Black Pro, and extra HDMI port (whoopie) and a few other minor things. This TV also has something the VT series does not, the 2D to 3D conversion. I know this doesn't sound all that great but it's an option if you want it. I understand that it's not as slim as LEDs or that it doesn't have the prettiest design but is that really what you buy a TV for?? Take my advice and snatch up this TV while you can.

Everything you are expecting/wanting from this tv will come true. Its an awesome buy. I suggest getting a 3d blu-ray player with more apps tho. This has good ones, but no vudu app. until 3d becomes more consistent on movie sites, I'll have to stream 3d movies thru vudu:( So im getting the 110 3d player from Panasonic.

Make sure you get the 2nd generation RECHARGEABLE SHUTTER GLASSES( TY-EW3D2M)! I got two pair off ebay for 95 a piece. Set up is easy. Just make sure you put the stand on the inside part of the tv...lol. there is no-way this tv will drop below the 800 mark...got mine for 999. A 50 inch non-3d cost more at walmart...lol.

The shipping people at Home Direct USA in Birmingham, Al were stellar! Two gentlemen actually brought it a day early to my home in Tuscaloosa, on their own/off time!

Conclusion: 3d, 2d, hd, 2d-3d conversion(has long way to go tho), internet connected, 50 inch...under 1000...u won't be disappointed

I bought this back in March and it was delivered within 3 days, thank you Amazon! It worked great for almost two months, the picture was stunning. Then one day I sat down to watch something and the image flickered a couple of times then went totally black. The power light just blinked steadily, no picture, no sound. Resetting the power only led me to the same results. Worked with Panasonic on-line support, they referred me to a local repair shop. My TV then spent over a month at their facility while it waited for parts, the end result was the LCD panel itself was to blame. Panasonic then shipped out a brand new TV of the same model for me to take home. I have now had the replacement TV for nearly a month and today the screen is starting to flicker... If I have one more issue I will be requesting a full refund from Panasonic.

I was excited for this TV to show up at my door 2 days after I ordered it (thank you amazon prime). I am very happy with my new Panasonic Viera LED HDTV. Some people have expressed having some issues with their TV's but its possible they just happened to receive a defective one (It happens and those who normally get a bad TV complain while us happy people forget to write reviews). There are no dead or stuck pixels. The picture seems to be great quality. The speakers are about as good as a TV is going to have. I am not sure why so many people expect the speakers in the LED LCD's to blow your mind. If you want superb sound buy yourself a nice 5.1 or 7.1 surround system. The Netflix works great, not too sluggish, when you have an Ethernet cable hooked up to the TV. It only plays netflix, amazon video but if your really into streaming you should probably look into a Roku or Logitech Google TV (both are around 99$). I played a few PS3 games and I was really impressed with the response time and overall quality picture during game play.Over all the sound quality, picture and appearance are all great and if your looking for a great 42" LED I would suggest this TV. I plan on following up in a few more weeks.

Update Oct 25 2011

So far the TV has been great with out any issues. After I bought it I did update the TV software. The Netflix is more limited then I would like you cant search ). The TV sound is fine for normal TV but if you like movies surround is a must. I bought a Panasonic blu ray player to use with this TV and I was very impressed with the over all picture quality The New remastered Lion King Looks really good ). Viera link is pretty cool since you can use the tv remote with the blu ray player. I would recommend it to anyone in the 42" led lcd tv market. It works just fine and has no issues.

I did an extensive search across the whole LED television market for a good 4 months before finally deciding to purchase this TV and I have to say I am 100% happy with this TV. I have had it for a month now and love it. It has excellent clarity but also excellent sound quality, especially when compared to other LED's. Since LED's are so thin, they normally are not strong when it comes to sound performance, however, the E30's quality is great. Combine all of that with the fact that this TV is priced at under $700 at Amazon and you have the best mid-level LED TV. I was comparing it with the Sharp 830 and the Sony ex700 and this one is by far superior. I would have been willing to pay just as much for this TV, as I would have for those two, around $100. But again buying this at $660 allowed me to get a nice TV stand and couches for around the same price. It was by far my best purchase this year.

Panasonic VIERA TC-L32C3 32-Inch Deals

I wanted a 2nd TV for our less often used family space in our lower level. My only requirements were that it be reasonably priced, at least 32", and interface with my older DVD player with component connections, and my older VCR with composite connections (yes, my kids still watch the occasional VHS movie). Frankly I didn't care if it was internet connectable for Netflix, or had a specific refresh rate. After viewing a bunch of TVs and brands side by side at my local "Good Purchase" store, including generic knock-off brands, it was clear this model of Panasonic simply had the best picture for the price. The contrast, colors, and view-ability of the IPS panel really stood out against other TVs in this price range. After checking Amazon, Amazon had the lowest price anywhere. The box came with a hole in the side, but I guess that is not necessarily the fault of Amazon. Still the TV is not double-boxed when shipped, so fortunately whatever made the hole did not get through far enough to damage the TV. The TV was easy to affix to the stand (8 screws total) and the setup of the channels is VERY easy. The TV displays instructions for each step of the way so you always know what is going to happen or what to do if you want to exit a menu area. Of course at 32" it does seem a bit smallish compared to my awesome Sharp 46" TV in our main family room, but it will suffice for the amount it will get used. Of course it would be nice to have double the connections on the back, so I guess realistically I would give it 4.5 stars out of 5, but it does come with 2 HDMI, 1 Component, and 1 Composite. For the price of this TV it is what I would expect. I would rather have fewer connections and a quality picture than a sub-par picture with twice the connections. This would also make an excellent TV for a bedroom and for that you would likely not need that many connections anyway. Panasonic has a sleeper with this gem with its quality picture, IPS panel and at a very competitive price $three-twenty-nine with free shipping!

Brought this to replace my aging Acer 32" LCD brought several years ago. Did not want to change the size due to the smallish room that i currently have the TV fixed, and decided against FullHD, as most of the contents i watch are not even 720p, hence a waste of cash. Checked out several products including products from Sony (BX300 and BX320), Samsung (C350 and 450), Sharp, Philips, LG, etc.

Found the Samsung, Sony and Panasonic were among the better panels with richer colors in the budget 32" market. Samsung had the advantage on features, Sony on features, with Panasonic playing middle ground. However the Sony BX320 had some issues with tearing when playing videos (I did not notice, but seen on several forums) and decided against it though i liked the built in FM tuner (takes away the need for a radio in the room). The Samsung had very little to fault, and also provided the most features with its built in USB media play back capable of playing all formats, including NTFS drives, however the habit of Samsung using different panels made me look around.

The Panasonic C3 just appeared into the market as the 2011 model, and has panel that seems to be much better than the the Samsung and Sony to my eyes, and this was my key decision maker. The Panasonic also had good viewing angles and a good feature set.

I tried several file formats using a USB drive (FLV, MKV, XVid, Divx) and they played with no issues. The colors as vibrant, and i reduced the back lighting from the default 100, as i did not need that so much. The asian model features both an USB and SD card, while the US version only has SD card.

Some areas that i felt could improve
Avoid setting the picture mode to Dynamic, as the software tries to optimize based on the content, and the algorithm is still not that great.
Audio from the built speakers are decent and loud, but muted when playing files from the built-in video player. There is absolutely no Bass in the speakers.
Only two HDMI ports, most rival models provide 3-4
PC connectivity is only through an analog port, no DVI port
Remote does not have any quick buttons for commonly used features (such as picture mode, sound mode, etc)

I am a maintenance director at a nursing home and I buy 32 inch LCD's for resident rooms.I have purchased about 6 different brands from Amazon in the past 9 months.I like this one the best and plan on only buying these from now on.This unit has an excellent picture with good black level's for an LCD.The sound on it is very good for a flat panel. There is a much better amount of clear bass and treble compared to the other brands that I have purchased.I like the fact that it has an SD card slot on the side. That makes it very easy for someone to show photos.SD seems to be taking over as the required memory in camera's.It doesn't have a USB slot which would have been nice.

We were very reluctant to buy this tv as there was only one review with not the best rating. We have had other panasonic products with good results so decided to give it a try from a retail store so we could take it right back if we didn't like it.The picture is excellent-I Changed a couple of the settings to my likeing & its just as clear as our more expensive larger screen. I like that you can view it pretty good from any angle. It was very easy to set up.We don't use it for video games or anything like that so can't say how it works for that.I would recommend this tv--nice exterior & good picture & easy to use--I don't need anything else.

I'm a fan of Panasonic TV's and equipment. This TV is replacing a TV I purchased in 1987. I hope to get at least half of that life time with this one. Delivered in less than a week and in perfect condition. The price was considerably less than local retailers and with the free shipping and no sales tax made for an exceptional value.

This television has a great picture. I took off one star because it has no output for video. I wanted to run the cable connection through the dvd player and was not able to do so. The other reason is because the directions and placement of the regular red, white and yellow input were unusual. The red and white are normal, but the yellow does not go above them, but in the top output across.

(The "x's" represent the input connections)

X < X yellow on left
X > X white - on right
X > X red - on right

It has more features and better volume than a Toshiba of comparable size and price. It is also less expensive than Samsung or LG. I'm using it in the bedroom and it fits the bill perfectly. It is a little thicker than some televisions (as another review noted), but not enough to bother me. I'm looking at the picture, not the frame.

All in all, a good value.

Like most flatscreen TVs today, the only thing I didn't like about this TV is that it didn't have analog audio outputs (RCA jacks). It does allow for analog audio and video input using a proprietary cable that plugs into their own jack. So I had to get a digital-to-analog converter so I could feed the audio to my stereo receiver. The picture is great just like my older 32" Viera I bought for my living room. The internet connection works without having to use Panasonic's own wireless adapter. What I did was use a Netgear wireless adapter that plugs into the wired LAN port of the TV (the TV won't know the difference that it's actually connected to a wireless adapter since it's coming into the wired LAN port). Now, according to most other reviewers, a wireless adapter connected to the USB port won't work so you need to make sure you get one that connects to the LAN port, not the USB port.

I am just a few days into using my 37" Panasonic, but will give first impressions. I especially like the picture quality. With some small adjustments for personal preferences, the colors are life like, rich, and sharp. I do some graphics work and may use this for a computer monitor at some time, which is a plus. Set up was easy and good documentation. I think the compact design is slightly smaller than other 37 inchers I was considering which is good for my small TV space. The Enerstar tag gives this an approximate annual operating cost of $9., which seems pretty amazing.

Like others have mentioned, if you want to use wireless for internet movies you will need the adapter that costs $60 or so, or some other device. It is slightly misleading in the way this is promoted in the product description. The sound is thin to say the least. The only sound out terminal is an optical out, which nixes using my old home stereo system like I had done with my previous set using RCA outs. I've started looking for a simple relatively inexpensive sound bar that will use the single cord optical sound connection, but have not found anything yet. So it looks like I'm stuck with the sound quality until I learn more.

Compared to my old Toshiba that died after five years, the screen is sort of mat finish, but slightly more glossy and picks up more distracting room reflections. Probably not a huge deal, but slightly different from my old TV. I suppose reliability is sort of a spin of the dice, but after having my last TV go south after five years I tried to find a brand with a low rate of repair and based on Consumer Reports and other reviews, Panasonic looked to me like it was among the more reliable brands. I might have gone Samsung, otherwise.

I'm not the most technically savvy person and may learn more later, but that's where I'm at now. There are a number of features I will probably never use. A nice TV for the money that could have been a great TV with better sound options and slightly less screen gloss.

The image quality on the 37" unit that I bought is gorgeous. You've heard the term "photo-realistic". The VIERA is "video-realistic"! I have HD digital cable service and the HD channels are nothing short of beautiful to watch. I also own a Mitsubishi 73" DLP and the picture quality on it is great, but the VIERA is yet MUCH MORE vivid & much more fuller of detail.

Hardware & software setup are easy. One thing that most people will want to do is to ensure that C.A.T.S (Contrast Automatic Tracking System) is turned "off" in the software. Turn this "feature" on & off a few times and I think you'll agree with me that your viewing experience will be much more enjoyable with this feature disabled :-)

I also would recommend getting the "Panasonic TY-WL20U Wireless Adapter for Panasonic 2012 Internet Ready TVs", unless you don't mind Ethernet cables (or are not going to plug this TV into the Internet). Bear in mind that this adapter is specific to 2012 models (at least, that is what I'm led to believe ;-)

About the built in speakers. Let's be logical. Of course they aren't going to match aurally with what the LCD does visually. But they are serviceable. I bought this TV specifically for my mother who lives in a small apartment & doesn't have a HT system. Nor does she have an interest in such gadgetry. As long as she can hear Johnny Olson entreat the next lucky contestant to "Come On Down!!", she's happy.

Toshiba 39L1350U 39-Inch Deals

This review is from: Toshiba 32L1350U 32-Inch 720p 120Hz LED HDTV (Electronics)
We purchased this TV, after deciding that we weren't interested in having our "smart" TV built in. We have an Apple Smart TV, and can always consider upgrades to this (developing and fairly inexpensive) technology. Our Sony dvd player handles our streaming needs quite well; so, otherwise what we wanted was a quality TV with a beautiful picture, as well as enough inputs/outputs to give us flexibility with our needs.
This Toshiba (32L1350U) is truly a beautiful set - especially for the price! (I went ahead and took Amazon's credit card and received the $50 gift certificate - so that came off the price.) This TV has true stereo analog outputs (full size - not a single, mini-"headphone" jack, audio output), so you can easily go through a stereo receiver to quality speakers. Otherwise, 3 HDMI jacks (cable box, dvd player, etc.); as well as a PC port, and a USB, if you must use it as a computer monitor.
It has absolutely beautiful color definition, a small frame - so a maximum viewing area, and the built-in speakers are really quite good! We were happy that we could still get full analog stereo, output capability and all the features of a current HD television.

This Toshiba 39L1350U TV has lots of features.

Picture quality is good via HD/HDMI, 480i via standard cable not so good and overscan can occur. Native mode aka 1:1 pixel is great, for 720 plus signals or hdmi. No program ratio mode. Color accuracy is above average. Brightness ability is good. Black ability is below average. HDMI sound level is low.

Digital comb/mpeg filter is subpar. Noise is noticeable for some signals.

This TV has ONE button ratio access, 3 theater mode with position adjust. Edge enhancer mode is nice. Deep color adjust system. Neat feature is 'freeze', you can freeze the pic and the sound of the show will go on. To toggle between 60hz and 120hz use cinema mode off/on. Old DVD players look good, if using AV then change Option/input/av to av instead of colorstream. Get upconvert player or Blu-ray, hdmi is the way to go.

Sound is pretty good, clean and clear. Only 14 watts.

Computer hookup is excellent, get a hdmi cable. Internet sites look good, words are clear. Games look good. This TV is good for computer, it can recognize many formats.

Production date: Jan 2013 China. Btw this tv is on sale from bestbuy for less than 350.

Picture: 3/5
Sound: 4/5

I picked this up for less than 200 bucks on sale. I'm not much of a TV watcher and I don't even have cable TV. I just watch PBS and special yearly events like the Oscars and the Rose Parade off my antenna. Mostly I watch movies off my Blu-Ray player. This TV was bought to replace my old 26" LCD Panasonic Viera (about six years old). The picture quality of this LED TV is definitely superior to what I had and it's nice that I get 31.5" inches of screen in the same space of my bookcase that used to hold my 26" TV. Sound quality is solid, and the digital tuner is also superior to the old one on my Panasonic (I'm getting clear reception on channels that used to be sketchy). The one thing that is inferior is the time lag in changing channels; it's a bit longer with this TV, but nothing ridiculous in terms of a wait. This unit also has a glossy screen, and personally I prefer matte screens. My TV isn't near a window, so any glare is minor, but if you plan to watch this TV during the day and your house gets lots of light, you might prefer a different model.

The remote is fairly intuitive. The only complaint I have is that this unit didn't come with a hard copy manual. I had to download one off the internet. That's being a little too cheap in my opinion. But other than that, I'd say that this TV is an excellent value.

I did not think it would be as good as the movies we have went to see. It is better! My kids say it is better! My Grandkids say it is better! We have Directv so I can watch 3D any time of the day. There still is limited shows but I am hoping for more. I love this TV!! I bought it for the 1080p not the 3D. but the wife said get a HDTV with 3D it is the way to go. She reads Consumer Reports, so I checked all the reviews and this Panasonic was listed as top line! Something about Panasonic is the only 3D to use 1080p in both eyes? Directv also listed it as one of their advised 3D TV's to buy, it was the first on their list BTW! Now I am no techie, but my daughter told me after watching for 5 minutes that this 3D was so good I could sell seats in my house! LOL. I wish 2 sets of glasses came with the TV but hey if you can afford this set you can afford the glasses. I just hated giving them back and forth to the whole family all night. I bought my Pana here on AMAZON @ World Wide Stereo and they used CEVA to ship the TV the truckers came with the TV early (3days) and helped me get the box off too. Very nice delivery men BTW! The whole process from order to turning this TV was 5 Star for me. This is my second Panasonic HDTV the first is a 720p in our bedroom that I have had over a year and we are very happy with. I have watched how many ESPN 3D football games? How many 3D shows? People came in on Halloween and sat down and would not leave! they just wanted to see 3D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its better and better...

Originally I was looking at a LG 3d LED. I had two disasterous experiences at two different Best Buys and ended up going to the local TV/video store (Video Only, if you happen to be in an area with one). They really know their stuff, and pointed me to this beauty.
It's not as sleek as some of the 0.5" thick LED's (it's about 3.5-4"). It doesn't have built in WIFI. The internet applications leave something to be desired. But the picture quality can't be beat. Hands down, the best picture I have seen from a TV. I was skeptical of a plasma, but the quality, reliability and durability of the plasmas today outweigh the benefits of a LED tv. You can look up and compare the numbers, but the fact is that this tv "just looks better".
One thing to note is that LED's generally offer a "crisper" image (at least according to the guy at the store), but their color quality diminishes greatly when viewing from an angle. But let me say I haven't had any complaints about the quality. It is sharp and looks great.
The 3D capabilities of this look stellar. I played through Call of Duty: Black Ops single player campaign in 3D and was completely blown away by the quality and the effects this TV is capable of displaying.
Overall, this is a great TV. My only real complaint is that it's a bit pricey. I was able to score this set with a Panasonic 3D starter kit (2 3d movies and 2 extra pairs of glasses), a 3d blu ray player and another set of glasses (in addition to the set included with the tv and the two in the starter kit) included in the price. Awesome deal.

This TV is awesome. You don't have to be blown away by the 3D feature when the 2D looks this good. It's so clear with near perfect color that the 2D looks almost 3D. I ran a video test of the calibration of it and it didn't need any adjustment. This was a first for me. No red push. The only thing I can find fault with is only one pair of 3D glasses comes with it. Also, if you want to hang it on an already purchased wall mount it does not come with the screws that fit the four holes in the back. Other than that, WOW!

Did lots of research, spoke to a bunch of salesman... after I returned my impulsive purchase of a Vizio 55" 480hz LCD. (feel free to read why I returned the Vizio) VIZIO XVT3D554SV 55-inch 1080p 480Hz 3D LED HDTV with Full Array TruLED, Smart Dimming and VIZIO Internet Apps http://www.amazon.com/review/R3JVPXUY0A7E10/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R3JVPXUY0A7E10

I thought Plasma was dying technology due to the overwhelming number of LCD's at the store for the bad rap it gets for not being as bright, being too hot, poor energy rating, and image retention. Problems which have been fixed on the newer models. The brightness difference you're seeing at the store between LCD and Plasma is the reason for the consumer movement to LCD (IMO). Though, once you get the TV into your home, LCD is much too bright. Even on a sunny day, it wasn't needed.

This TV has a perfect/amazing picture. I've owned it now for 3 weeks and have seen zero noticeable defects. Judder, ghosting etc.. Watched some content in 3d and I'm hooked. Basketball, football, Xbox Black Ops, and Avatar has been it so far. (lack of cheap 3d content out there, had to upgrade to new cable box (no cost) for the 3d channels) The movie and sporting events were amazing and makes watching in 2d lame. I didn't care for the 1st person shooter in 3d though. 2d gaming is perfect with no delay. I am perfectly satisfied that I purchased the right technology, Plasma.
I sometimes wonder how the Samsung plasma compares due to the following:
1) amount of online menu items seems to be lacking when compared to other brands. When I was shopping for the TV, I was mainly concerned that it would have Netflix. I've used YouTube and I now wish it had a browser as well.
2) The Samsung remote looks much more professional than the Panasonic.
3) When the TV is turned off, it's not nearly as modern looking as some of the other brands.

Can't wait for Netflix to start renting out 3d Blue-Ray movies!

Before I make any large purchase I make sure to try and do my homework. I had an 8 year old panasonic lcd projection tv that worked fine but it was time for an upgrade. After looking at CNET, Consumer Reports, avs forums and others there was a consensus that this TV was the best TV of 2010. This TV has the best 3d and among the best 2d with some of the best black levels this side of the pioneer kuros series.

After bringing it home and setting it up I am blown away. The 3d picture is fantastic to a point while watching Avatar with my son he said "Is this real!" The 2d picture is also spectacular with excellent black levels. I set this tv up with my PS3, xbox 360, and Wii and they all look fantastic. 3d gaming on the ps3 is an immersive experience.

Overall, the only thing is that it is not as thin or flashy as the LED's but they can't touch the picture quality this tv gets. Great product!

This is very awesome TV. Watch over the air HD and movies. Picture is sharp, nothing like it with blue-ray. 3D is fantastic, from 2ft to 20ft, I set about 6ft and just amazed. It has less heat than my 26in LCD. Highly recommend this 54in plasma 3D.Have not had any reflection problems. Set perpendicular to a 8ft sliding patio door only have to pull curtain when sun is shinning directly on screen.First plasma TV and very pleased with purchase and Amazon shipped faster than site said, guy help me care down stairs and very polite, very good experience!

After finding out about this TV and making my research, I was hooked. I bought this TV and loved the color, although a bit saturated I called geek squad and got it ISF calibrated. The settings are as followed:

Picture Mode: Custom
Picture Temperature: Warm
Contrast (Picture): 88
Brightness: 62
Color (Saturation): 65
Hue (Tint) +3
Sharpness 50
Backlight: 35
Red Drive (Gain, High) 78
Green Drive ( Gain, High) 59
Blue Drive (Gain, High) 41
Red Cutoff (bias, offset) 88
Green Cutoff (Bias offset) 80
Blue Cutoff (bias, offset) 89

After the settings were implemented the TV looked true to life, even though there is minor brightness adjusting to be made to the TV when in 3D .. the color is fairly excellent for the price.

3D: 4/5

Movies: 5/5

TV SHOWS: 5/5

Sports 5/5

Definitely a TV to get..

PS: You will need to get into the service menu to access the settings from Red Drive and forward.

Not sure how to access the service menu, a quick google search will help.

Just purchased, found it on sale for $999. It is the ET5 series from Panasonic. This series features passive 3D (not of great interest to me) and some of the best Smart TV functional (of great interest to me) functionality of all TVs in the price range.

Let's start with the screen: Perfect size for our living space of roughly 10-15' from screen. It has great color and life like tones. I popped it into passive mode, just to check out some 3D action and I think it flowed very nice. I have yet to see any ghosting or issues with movement. I chose LED over Plasma, as Plasma tends to have more glare and our living space is bright.

I was most interested in the Smart functions. I was looking for a TV that would allow for a QWERTY keyboard to make searching for movies and browsing the net quick. However, with the exception of a few Panasonics from 2011, there were few TVs that have a QWERTY keyboard. With the exception of a few high end models, there was nothing that fit the bill. Until I found the ET5 series.

It not only has a free app from Panasonic (this TV is compatible), but it also allows you to use the keyboard on your iphone/ipad/android to type in things. ADDITIONALLY, (Panasonic does not advertise it very well and Best Buy sales guys are clueless), but you can use some USB wireless keyboard devices as an input device.

What makes it stand out:
1. Panasonic Viera remote compatible with Iphone/Ipad/Android control
2. Can use 3rd party mini wireless keyboards
3. Easy wifi or ethernet connectivity
4. Bright, vivid screen
5. Excellent value for the price

What could be better:
1. It only has 2 USB ports (could be expanded?)
2. The basic remote it comes with really is generic. I need a remote that can learn functions (so as to replace existing remotes) and has a keyboard for easy entry.

I am somewhat picky with TVs and took months to buy a new TV to replace my old Samsung 46" LCD of about 4 years. I had brought the LG55LM6700 but sent it back due to lackluster picture resolution and inability to adjust the anti-judder or "smoothing effect". I know Panasonic has a great reputation for plasmas so I wasn't sure about their LEDs, but after seeing this in a showroom and reading reviews I decided to give it a try. I must say that I've been more than pleased with the TV.

The picture is excellent on network HDTV and picks up sports pretty good. It's still not as good as a plasma for sports but most LEDs aren't except the 240hz. It is stunning with Blu-ray movies! Excellent picture quality that does not need much calibration at all. NOTE: The anti-judder effect is very prominent on this set but has 4 settings: strong, medium, weak, and off. I toggle between medium and weak and it suits me very well.

The wireless set-up is quick and easy and the internet applications are enough for me. I have only used netflix so far but it streams almost HD quality as long as you have the proper bandwidth. The four free 3d glasses are a welcome bonus included with the TV.

All in all I am very satisfied with the TV and would recommend to anyone.

This TV provides an excellent picture, with a very wide viewing angle (for an LCD). However...

On page 63 of the manual, it says "The TV's internal software was designed to work with Panasonic's wireless adapter model DY-WL10." After trying three non-Panasonic wireless adapters just to see if they would work (they wouldn't), I purchased the Panasonic adapter, but, as the other reviewer discovered, the TV would not recognize the DY-WL10. Panasonic's Netconnect site covers only 2011 television models--nothing about 2012 models.

When I called Panasonic Support today, I was told that, no, the DY-WL10 isn't compatible with any of the 2012 Panasonic models. The model that the support rep recommended is the DY-WL5, which isn't available yet; I can't find it on Amazon, or even on Panasonic's own site. B&H Photo lists it for pre-order with a March 31st availability date. So, at least until that date, this TV cannot use a wireless connection.

Backup plan: I used a powerline ethernet adapter to connect the TV to my router. The TV recognized it easily, and it works fine in my house. But, as with all powerline products, your house's wiring must be pretty good for it to work well enough for video transfer.

[Edit 03/08/2012] As a commenter pointed out, the appropriate wireless adapter for this TV (and I assume all 2012 Panasonic WiFi-ready models) is the DY-WL20, not the DY-WL5. Of course, I can't find that model for sale either as of this moment.

Really great tv. Perfect size for my office/studio. Picture quality is excellent. I calibrated the tv using settings I found with a quick google search. Sound is ok, but as with most flat screens it lacks a really impressive on board audio set up. Xbox 360 games look incredible. I've been playing Skyrim and Battlefield 3 and am blown away by the picture. I fired up amazon prime (through Viera Cast) and watched Troll Hunter in HD. Again, beautiful picture (and awesome low budget Norweigian movie).

And now a more niche consideration. I am an illustrator by trade and use a Wacom tablet and photoshop in my day to day work. I purchased this tv with the intention of utilizing it as a third, large scale monitor for certain projects. A big reason I went for this particular tv is the LED screen. I find it is much easier on my eyes when I am painting on screen for hours on end.

So there you have it. Beautiful image quality, a decent service lineup (Netflix, Prime, etc.), customization, great aesthetics, light weight, and it won't make your eyes bleed when you are painting an event poster at 2 in the morning.

And yes, it says wi-fi ready but it needs an adapter. Otherwise it would say built in wi-fi. so the option is either buy a tv with built in (an extra $200-$2000) or buy an adapter ($60.. I agree it's a rip off. I ran a wire.). Same reason the E3 model had only 4 stars, from what I read in the reviews. So if you can get past that, this is a really excellent buy.

After spending several days looking at different TV's, we decided on this 42" Panasonic LED LCD. I am an electrical engineer and I understand the difference between an traditional LCD and an LED LCD. I liked the lower power usage and light weight of this TV. I have also had a Panasonic TV (tube type) for over 15 years and it still looks great. Consequently, I had a high degree of confidence with Panasonic. Unfortunately, the picture on this TV seems washed out. The darkest dark value is really grey. I tried changing the settings as much as possible and it never really made a difference that was acceptable. Also, I found we were pegging out the operating variables such as backlight, contrast, brightness, and others in trying to improve the picture. I tried many different combinations and we just could not improve the sense that the picture was washed out. Also, I have to wonder whether a TV is worth buying if you have to do so much adjustment to its default settings to get an acceptable picture. Unfortunately, this TV is going back to Amazon. I am glad we purchased it from Amazon directly so we got the 30 day return guarantee. We will return it immediately.

Update: We bought an LG 47" LED LCD TV after we returned this one. Beyond the fact that it is bigger than this TV, one thing to note is that the picture was much better--no washed out look to it. This was with the default settings, not after extensive adjustments as was needed with the Panasonic TV. We are very happy with the LG at this point.

I purchased this TV during the black Friday lightning rounds. I was among the many that didn't realize the limitations of the TV before buying. Because Amazon has both the 24 and 32 inch models on the same page it is easy to misread what you are actually getting. Amazon should separate the reviews and customer pictures for each model so that people don't anticipate something that they aren't actually getting. I should have done more research and read the specs from Panasonic's website as well...

That being said, it was a $159 set and I really like almost everything about it.

Pro's
24inch is 1080P
Game mode makes picture much better (Picture is sharp and bright)
Quite thin
Low power consumption

Con's
Only 1 HDMI input (thought that there were more because of the 32 in reviews)
Picture quality and viewing angles could be slightly better (But then again, this is a sub $200 TV)
NOT LED (Again the way that both the 32in (LED) and the 24in (LCD) are combined in the same page one would assume that both are LED, but unfortunately this is not the case.)

So my advice to anyone considering this TV, buy it as long as you are OK with 1 HDMI and are looking for a 1080P panel. LED is missing, but LCD is fine. Good luck finding something comparable for the price, it's not easy to do.

I identified this TV at the local electronic store. Loved the image and it was the only one with a real thin profile. They were soldout. Pricing is very decent as well.

Compared this TV to Samsung and Toshiba 32" LED TVs at BB. No comparison on color and picture quality. Panasonic stood out so far it was not a contest! Loved the 178 degree viewing angle which the others could not come close to. Bought on Amazon and had it in 2 days! Great TV and the remote has all the controls you need but does not overwhelm you! Don't look at the others, just buy the Panasonic. You can get a cheaper TV but you are wasting your money! You can not beat it on picture quality!

This TV is fine. My biggest complaint is that the only sound output is through an optical cable. No RCAs, no headphone jack, no way out! I routed all my sounds out from cable, blue ray, DVR, and Wii to a switch with 4 inputs and one RCA or headphone jack for output for $30. I can connect it now to my home theater system. The images on the TV are crisp with no blur on fast action. Standard settings seem a little dark but it can be customized for every video input. Good overall set except for the sound. I had for about 2 months.

I did extensive research before buying this one, and after having it for 2 weeks, I'm glad I picked it!
This TV had the best picture quality of all comparable TVs (42" LCD 1080p HDTVs). I was comparing between Panasonic, LG, Samsung and Sony. I made multiple trips to several stores to check out this TV, specially when put next to other brands. Needless to say, all look good when watching HD content, but if you pay close attention, you can tell the difference. Colors in Panasonic looked the best to me - richer, and more natural.
The remote is fairly intuitive, and non-HD content looks good as well.

As for other features, they're pretty standard across all the brands within this price range ($500-600).

My general advice to folks buying HDTV for the first time:
When buying an HDTV, buy for (1) screen size and (2) picture quality - those two things you can't "upgrade" during the life of the TV. Other features, like watching internet content, browsing the web, etc, can be easily added through (fairly inexpensive) external devices (BlueRay player, media boxes). No point paying more to have those embedded in the TV. You cannot predict all the new features and technologies that will emerge over the life of your TV (hopefully at least 5 years), so you'll have to rely on add-on's anyway. Focus on getting the right screen size and the best picture quality. For judging picture quality, don't rely on online reviews, but go out and see for yourself in local stores. Check out several stores (3-4) so you can eliminate any element of randomness (e.g., incorrect TV setting in a store) from your observations.

Panasonic was the best screen size and picture quality for my budget, and so far I'm very happy with my choice!

Please note that the star ratings here are combined for the 32" model and the 24" model. If you separate them, you see that the 32" model is really quite a bit better. I added up about 50 of the most recent reviews and found these average star ratings:
32" model: 4.7
24" model: 3.5
Plus nearly all of all the 1 and 2 star reviews are for the 24" model.

What this means is that you can get a really fine 32" LED TV here for an amazing price!

The picture is GREAT! I bought the 32" model about 10 days ago, on sale at BestBuy. In the store, this Panasonic's picture quality easily beat out every other 32" LED TV on display, including the Samsung 4003 which was sitting right next to it and had a MUCH less good picture. It was also better than the Samsung UN32E5000. I've been just as pleased with the TV at home. The picture is clear, full, rich, but also nuanced--you see subtle shadings that the competition doesn't have.

The sound isn't great, but it's good. (It's the 24" model reviews that call the sound "tinny"). The max volume is a little less than I would have expected, but fine for my needs.

The TV is ultra slim and well built--backed with a metal plate rather than the plastic you see on most of the competition. I checked reliability ratings for different TV manufacturers and Panasonic still rates near the top. From the outside at least, this TV looks like it will last well.

So far, I love this TV!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program (What's this?)
This is a pretty decent 32in budget TV (mine measures 31-2/4" on the diagonal). Aesthetically, the TV is fairly low profile & the bezel isn't too large. The base installation was pretty straightforward & only required a phillips screwdriver.

The colors & darks are just fine for regular viewing. I didn't see a picture blur, but I am not a full blown techie.

I hooked mine up to my digital antenna & it was a breeze to set up - the TV recognized all of the available channels without a hiccup. The remote is on the medium to smallish side, but it is responsive to the touch. The remote comes with batteries.

The sound is decent & does project. It is not as booming as my old Vizio, but the sound is better than a Westinghouse that we sampled last year. Even with running on a treadmill, I did not have to turn the volume all the way up.

Viewing angle is decent - about what you would expect from a 32" budget TV.

All in all, for the price, the TV delivers.

Got this at Best Buy. The price was right and at the time it looked great. When I got it home it was very easy to set up. After watching it for a while I noticed the greens and yellows are very inaccurate and over saturated. They look almost fluorescent at times. I hooked up an Apple TV and compared some photos I took in the jungles of Costa Rica and all the greens looked waaay too bright. NO AMOUNT OF MESSING WITH THE SETTINGS SEEMED TO HELP THIS ISSUE. I was even able to access the hidden menu but STILL UNABLE to adjust individual colors in the spectrum. If not for the bad color I would have been totally happy with this TV. I even went BACK to Best Buy to see if their floor model looked the same and INDEED IT DID. Apparently they are all like this. I tried and tried to adjust myself to the bad color but no matter how I tried I just couldn't accept it. I returned the unit to Best Buy on the 14th day.

PROS:
- Nice design. Light, thin, very slim bezel.
- Nice wide viewing angle

CONS:
- Bad color. Especially Greens and Yellows are overly bright. Adjusting settings does not really help. Not enough control in settings.
- Only digital out for audio. If I want additional speakers I will need to purchase a speaker system with digital input. Call me old fashioned but I like a standard audio out (either 1/8 headphone jack or stereo RCA's).
- Only 2 HDMI inputs. 3 would be nice.
